Electromagnetic Crane
A crane system integrated with a lifting magnet for ferrous plate, billet, profile or scrap handling. Magnet selection and power-loss safeguards are project-specific.
Description
Reference configuration only. Final capacity, span, lifting height, duty, magnet type, retained-load strategy, controls, environmental rating and applicable standards are project-specific and must be confirmed in the written technical proposal.
An electromagnetic crane combines an overhead or gantry crane with an engineered lifting magnet for suitable ferrous materials. The complete lifting system is selected around the load—not the crane alone—because plate thickness, bundle geometry, air gaps, temperature, surface condition and residual magnetism affect holding force.
Typical Applications
- Steel plate and sheet handling
- Billets, profiles and structural steel
- Steel service centers and stockyards
- Ferrous scrap handling
- Production-line material transfer
Features
- Bridge or gantry arrangement selected for the site

- Customizable according to project requirements
Optional Configurations
- Single or multiple magnet beams
- Telescopic or fixed-length spreader beams
- Rotating attachment arrangement
- Battery-backed or generator-supported magnet circuit
- Indoor, outdoor, high-temperature or dusty-area packages
Safety Systems
- Overload protection and travel limit switches
- Emergency stop and audible/visual warning devices
- Power-loss risk assessment and retained-load strategy
- Anti-collision, zoning and restricted-area functions when required
- Magnet circuit monitoring and interlocks as specified
Applicable Industries
Steel manufacturing, metal service centers, fabrication, scrap processing, ports and logistics.
